Chemical Simulations Group has the experience to perform detailed pharmacogenomic
analyses and return meaningful results. In the example below, a protein isoform is characterized that results from a splice variant of the human estrogen receptor.
A predominance of exon-5 deleted estrogen receptor over the wild type occurs in patients with advanced breast
cancer. The structural and binding impacts of the exon-5 deletion (shown in green) is in agreement with clinical studies of patients who develop tamoxifen
resistance. Expression of the exon-5 deleted isoform produces a truncated protein that shows ligand independent transcriptional activity.
